Hi everyone
So my mother’s visa was approved. What I still don’t understand is why If I checked in the box that says supervisa, she always gets the multiple visa. Even the insurance was bought and submitted with each and every document they ask for. I mean I’m happy she got it but why not the supervisa?

Thanks

What was the code? Was it PG-1?

It's still ultimately at the discretion of the visa officer; they can grant an ordinary TRV even if you applied for a super visa. You'll just have to request for her extension if you wish for her to stay for more than six months.

Supervisas are generally multiple visas. So it is normal.

Was she issued a V-1 or a PG-1? Both could be multiple entry visas

If it's a V-1 then there have been similar cases in the recent past even if you checked the super visa option.

Did you just barely meet LICO?
What financial documents did you include?
How long a visit did she mention for a super visa?
Does she have any medical condition that might seem like she could need more than the insurance coverage which you had purchased?

How long she is allowed to stay in Canada is determined at the port of entry by the CBSA officer. However yes, the super visa gives the CBSA officer the ability to allow your mother into Canada for up to 2 years.

That's great :)

PG-1 visas are multiple-entry visas!
