Hi,

I am a 22 year old student in the UK and have always wanted to move to Canada. I planned to apply for a one year work visa after I graduate in 2019, I was diagnosed with MS last year- will this affect my application?
I am as healthy any normal person and imagine I could bring my medication (tecfidera) from the UK to Canada for that one year.
Does this all seem possible?

1. You might have difficulties as you can only bring a 90 day supply with you.
2. I assume you intend to apply for an IEC open work permit.
3, It is unlikely that you would pass the medical if you applied for permanent residence based on excessive demand as the cost of a 1 years supply of Tecfidera according to the MS society of Canada is about $23K per year, well over $6.5K where excessive demand kicks in.

Thanks so much for your speedy reply!

Okay, I didn't know I could only bring a 90 day supply? Could I post medication from the UK for one year? This is really my dream I'm desperate to find a way to make it work.

I've accepted that emigrating will probably never be possible for me, so would be happy to be able now to experience a year there.

Thanks

No - you cannot post medication from the UK. As PMM explained, you are limited to bringing a 90 day supply with you.

They are trying to change that law regarding medical admissibility but what portions will change is unknown at this time.
