multi visa close to expire

hello my parent have multi visa
it has 5 month to expire they wanted to come to Canada but their country said they should have valid passport at least 6 month before expire to leave their home country, what I know cic said they should apply 1 month before expire ,
with this situation what they should do it? do they can apply now? ( 5 month left to expire)

There are two options:
1. Your parents can apply for new passports. And then travel with both passports, including the current/old passport which has the valid TRV, or

2. Apply for new passports right away. Then wait for another four months or so before applying for new TRVs from scratch


Applying way in advance (5 months still to go) could result in TRV refusals

question is if apply for new passport visa will goes aways , how they travel with new passport without visa on their passport?

The TRVs in their current passports are valid for another five months until XX date, right? It continues to remain valid until that XX date even if your parents get new passports
