Good day! I have question regarding immigration and I want my partner to immigrate too to Canada. This is my situation:

My uncle will sponsor me under MPNP, I'll be applying as single 'cause we are not married yet.

I'll start processing my MPNP application next week. I have sort of questions.

We planned that my partner will be joining me to Canada after a couple of months I got there and settle on my own. As they said, I'll go back to PH to get married and bring him back to Canada with me.

But as I read some articles, I think of what if we marry before I leave my home country, so that he'll just finish his studies and job then fly to Canada w/ Temporary Visa as visitor, and we will do Inland Spousal Sponsorship and also apply for open work permit for him to work. I want him to be beside me once I adapt the country and live on my own.

But. The question I have in my mind is, can I marry him after I got my visa and before I migrate/fly to Canada? But in all documents I passed, there's no name of him as dependent/spouse 'cause stated marital status is single.

I'll have our Marriage Certificate with me when I arrive in Canada. Follow up question, can I process my marital status in Canada? Am I allowed to list him as dependant once I arrive in Canada or better before I leave PH?

Please enlighten and help me. I'm comfortable of marrying him after I got my visa and before I leave the my home country.

I cannot marry him right now 'cause he is still studying and most probably processing time of all my application to Canada will take a year or more which is his graduation also.

The short answer is no - you absolutely cannot do this.

If you marry after you get your visa but before you land in Canada and become a PR, then you will have to return your visa to the VO (without using it) and submit all of the paperwork required to add your spouse to your application. Once the VO processes your spouse's information, they will issue a new visa for both of you. You cannot use your original visa to land since it was issued for a single person. If you use it, you'll be committing misrepresentation (lying about your status) - and two things will happen: (1) you will never be able to sponsor your spouse for PR; (2) your PR status could be revoked by CIC.
