MPNP Eligibility

Hi Everyone,
This is my first post, and I need some clarity about MPNP. Can anyone please advise that is it mandatory to have a connection with Manitoba before I apply for MPNP. I was trying to search about this and found that one must have recognised connection with the province through family, friend of ITA issued via express entry. So I am quite confused how does this work. Any guidance on this would be helpful. Regards Tanusree

If you have a relative in Manitoba, then only your points will become equivalent to the draw of MPNP.
