No matter what you do, do not contact another MP. It could hold the process even more. This is information I received from my MP when I made an inquiry about our case.
MP inquiry won't speed up the process and for sure CIC doesn't release much info even to MP office.
For the records my MP got back to me in less than 2 weeks but he didn't say anything I already didn't know.
The only thing left is to find the strength to wait.
Good luck!
I am agree -
DON'T CONTACT ANOTHER HON. MEMBER OF PARLIAMENT!!! its 100% hold you app and take more time.
But CIC will and can release more detail to MP office - but they will not able to share that with you base on there internal Government instruction. But In a personal meeting you
may have more detail.
Its very dependency who is your MP (What party? Position is Parliament? How long time MP in power ? and etc) some MP may help you some not! Its politic!
You will have more chance and usually MP really can speed up or make you processing time more "clear" if you met this criteria s:
1. You application is over time (stuck or has more then processing time on CIC web page)
2. You have met your MP personally and explained in detail your situation.
3. Your MP from the party which is in power now (Now is Liberal Party of Canada)
3. Your MP have position in Immigration Committee , Minister position or close to Minister position.
4. Your MP not a new person in Parliament.
