My American husband who is here on a visitor visa and I are currently living with my parents in Ottawa. We plan to apply for inland spousal sponsorship soon (within the next few weeks), as well as an OWP. We are planning to move to Quebec City sometime during this process.
Our Ontario lawyer told us that there is a separate process for inland spouse visas for Quebec and the rest of the country. We're intending to apply in Ontario showing cohabitation in Ontario. The lawyer said she couldn't advise us on this but she believes that as long as we are legitimately cohabiting in Ontario at this time we should be able to move to Quebec after we get the OWP.
My concern is that this will delegitimize the original applications which we made in Ontario. Is this the case? If so, what would happen? Could we then do a separate inland spouse visa application for Quebec? Is there a risk of the OWP being rescinded?
P.S: If I have a one year lease in Quebec and am a Canadian Citizen, but have only been living in Quebec for a month and have never lived there before, can I still sponsor my spouse to live with me?
