Hi,
I have 5+years of experience working as a sales manager for a major bank in India. My experience is into sales and operations of mortgage lending.
I have a pgdm in marketing and have a commerce background.

Would need some real advice from people who moved to Canada with similar experiences and how difficult was it to get a job initially.

I understand there is initial struggle, but would still want to understand, what kinds of job should i expect and what min pay should i expect as i am warning pretty decent in India.

Any help would be appreciated.

Given that Canada is in a recession if you have a good job I would suggest not moving. All banks are on hiring freezes and we have no see what will happen will the housing industry. Do you have experience with large international banks? If they have locations in Canada that is different.

The bank i work for have few branches in canada , but it does not have huge international presence. Also i was planning to start the process in next six months, as it may take upto a year post application. I was considering a 1.5yrs time till I land in canada.
Do you think the market will recover by then?
How likely can I get a job in any other company considering by sales exp?

Very hard to predict where the economy will be in 1.5 years. Unfortunately I think it still may be quite bad. Very hard to say what kind of joba will be available. Between brexit, unrest in HK, Covid and Canadians returning back home after working in finance abroad there are so many finance professionals coming to Canada. Canada is a small country and small market so only so many people can be absorbed. The fact that you don't have an MBA will likely hurt you. Many others competing for jobs will likely have an MBA. Canadian experience and education have a big influence on hiring. When it comes to sales the employers impression of you during an interview also has a big influence on hiring.
