whoops not used to this laptoppery yet heh

he then checked my customs form where i had stated i am staying 41 days
(have return flight booked but he didn't ask to see that)

he then said
Q. you're staying for 41 days?
A. yes

stamped passport
done

i didn't volunteer that i have a pr application in process
but obviously would answer any question truthfully if he hhad asked
just a question...
ould he have had information on his computer that we have a pr application in?
if so seems strange he didn't question me about it
I'm almost certain they have access to this information. My husband and I have travelled a lot while his application was in process, and we were never asked about a PR application until our e-cas turned to "In process". Then they asked both times, I think just to see if we were being honest. I'm sure they can see that info

May I ask where you plan on having your mail sent while you go through the process? Would it be a mistake to have all of your mail sent to Canada from the processing center? So you just said you were planning to stay 41 days and they were cool with it? Is it me or does anyone feel like this process makes you feel as though you are doing something wrong? I imagine that I will learn a lot from all of this.

Thanks again for the feedback...

My husband just drove up here (I'm in Alberta, he was in Indiana) in June to wait out the remainder of the time. It was very easy, he had proof of our fees, had a copy of my sponsor approval, and also a copy of the receipt for the storage where his belongings are being stored. I was not with him, but the IO could have called me on the cell to verify. They were impressed with how well he knew the process (thanks to this forum) and had him on his way within 15 minutes. They stapled a visitor record in his passport (his first official Canadian document and I got all teary with how official it looked lol), and he has 6 months until it expires. We will just send in a request to extend if it's necessary but omg I hope we have a PR by then lol.

We have changed his mailing address to our address here in Canada, but his residence is listed as his daughter's house in Indiana, since he is only "visiting" at this time.

Hope that helps!

It is easy enough, if people follow the rules :)

We had pretty much the same experience as Jayde when we crossed together, my husband coming to visit during the process. The IO did not even ask what he was bringing. When asked how long, we said a few months that we are waiting out the PR process, and he told her he knew he couldnt work or anything like that. We had copies of Ecas, the receipts, and my sponsor approval and had no issues whatsoever.

My advice, be honest and don't try to hide any little bit of information....

Such good news to hear that I will be able to come together with my wife. It sounds like you and your husband did your homework and were very prepared. You two must be so excited, congratulations. All of this information is so helpful and will make my wife sleep better. I agree with everyone about just being honest, and I will do the same. I wish everyone the best. Thank you so very much, greatly appreciated.
