My boyfriend is looking to move to Canada to live with me on a NAFTA work permit as his profession falls within the parameters of this permit. We intend to get married next year but aren't yet engaged. If he does get a job here and pursues the NAFTA permit, will we have issues when he tries to get permanent residency? There's a possibility that we might be engaged when he moves here and we are worried that this might be viewed as Visa Fraud. Our intention is to settle down in the US in about 5 years.
We also both travel across the border often for reasons outside our relationship. Will this be an issue when waiting for permanent residency?
