I am a US resident and recently received PR confirmation. I don't quite know how to begin making a list of my things. The CBSA website says it needs to be extremely detailed and include make, model, serial number, and CAD value of each item.

Would this apply to each individual item, or are they only referring to items large and high value enough to have a serial number? Also most importantly, how can I determine the value of each item? Is it okay to estimate? Is it the current value of the item in its used state, or what it went for when first purchased?

For example would a box of assorted books be okay listed as "Box of 20 books, $50", or would I need to list the title and author of each book, and find out the price each book would MSRP for new in Canada?

I went through one of my tool bags and this is the list I made of the contents:

Tool bag 1 Pittsburg locking pliers
Warrior impact driver to socket adaptor
Pittsburg socket adaptors and elbows set of 18pc
Pittaburg monkey wrench x2
Pittsburg screwdriver set 10pc
Ikea screwdriver with bits
Craftsman box wrench x2, 10-11mm, 7/16-3/8
Pittsburgh Allan key set 2pc
Kobalt pass through ratchet with socket set 18pc
Tekton 30mm impact socket
Pittsburg 22pc combo wrench set
PT sparkplug socket 5/8"
Kobalt double drive ratchet
Kobalt socket set 6pc
Makita impact socket set 8pc
Pittsburg torx socket set 9pc
Pen type tire pressure gauge (brand unknown)
Pittsburg socket extensions 9pc
Store House hose clamp set 40pc

Is this list detailed enough? I realize it doesn't have values, but I'm stuck on that. Could I simplify it to "Tool Bag - Wrenches, sockets, screwdrivers"?
