Hello everybody,

I am undergoing an intra-company transfer process. My question is whether or not I need to request a new work permit considering that I will working for the same employer. Any thoughts??

Additionally if that is the case what would be the proper answer for question 3 when filling the form IMM5710?
-The question is: I am applying for one or more of the following
- Options:
- A work permit with the same employer
- A work permit with a new employer
- Restoration of temporary resident status as a worker
- Initial temporary resident permit or extension...

Yes, you do need a new work permit if any of the conditions of your employment change. This includes changing the work location. On the form, you would choose “I am applying for a work permit with the same employer.”

Thanks for the response. I am currently in Quebec and the employment is in BC. Do you think I need a LMO? Or will I be entitled as an intracompany transfer?

Thanks.
