Moving Household things and Car to Canada from US

All,
I am currently working in US on H-1b and will be moving to Canada in febuary 2011 on W-1 visa ( Intra company transfer). I am not sure what is the process for transfering goods and car to canada. Please provide some information on this issue.

Check out my post on page 3 of the following thread regarding the importation of my vehicle. I also drove my belongings across the border in a uhaul truck when I landed. I don't know how the process differs for people with work visas. I came to Canada through family class sponsorship.

Thank you Allison for your reply I really appriciate it. I still have one more question about buying a new car . Do i have to pay Import duties if i bought new car from US?

I believe there is some rule about having owned the car for some period of time before you can import it duty free as part of your personal goods, but I'm not too sure about what it is. Sorry. Did you try the RIV website?
