Hello ,

I am currently working in Canada on PGWP and would like to apply for CEC express entry.
My mother's name is spelled incorrectly on my birth certificate.
The name is spelled correctly on my 10th grade certificate and passport. Can i submit copy of my 10th grade certificate and affidavit from parents (who live in India) instead of submitting birth certificate?
It is really hard to get the birth certificate corrected since it was issued from a different municipality and my parents doesn't live there anymore.

thanks

Hello,

Submit both and compose a cover letter explaining the situation. Just like you explained it here. Mention the difficulties on obtaining a new birth certificate and so on. There should not be any issues.
But do not submit any other documents instead of needed/necessary/asked for documents.

Best of luck,

As said, submit your actual Birth certificate, prepare a explanation letter and add copy of those documents with properly spelled name.

Create a unique PDF to submit as Birth certificate, containib:

1. Letter (to be sure officer read it first)
2. Birth certificate
3. Other documents

You can provide them the birth certificate but don't forget to mention a letter explaining the situation.
