Hi,

I will be starting with the student visa process soon, however, I recently noticed that the surname of my mother is mentioned wrong, As in the correct name should have been Meera Devi however the mentioned name is Meera Sharma

The birth certificate mentions Meera Devi, where as 10 class certificates mentions Meera Sharma.

Is there a way out of it ? I have heard of letter of explanation, but I am not certain that it would work. Also if I apply with this passport for the Pr process will it be an issue ?

Thanks,
Any leads will be appreciated.

Hi,

Get an affidavit stating that both names denote the same person and get it notarized from a gazetted official. Attach it with the other documents. At least for now, this would work. You can change her name in the passport later.

Thnaks Disha,

I will try to get it changed, if it takes longer than 20 days I would go for the affidavit.

Thanks again

Oh, great! Which intake are you planning?

Me as well! The classes will begin on Sep 1 and I applied for my visa on April 2nd.
Nowadays, there are so much delays in the visa process, so it is wise to apply faster.

Yep That is true, they are taking a bit too long, with the process.

Will try to com0lete my visa process by early May, cant delay it any further.

Well, all the best! May I ask you which university you'll be studying?

Okay, great! Hope for the best
