I feel so frustrated about my sponsorship case recently. I originally submitted my application in Nov, 2006 and I got married in 2007 and my daughter was born in 2008. I had one year maternity leave from May,2008 to May, 2009 and cic asked me to update my material for that period when I was off on mat leave. I tried to ask if I can add my husband as co-signer but the officer from Mississauga told me that if I added him, I had to resubmit my application that means it would take another 3 years. So I just updated my financial material in June,2009 until now cic never updated me anything. I asked MP and they told me my case and some other similar cases were on hold for the decision of federal court of Canada. It's been 1.5 years since I updated my material and no timeline for it. I think cic try to change the policy for those people like me when apply as single and then get married.
My question is what should I do now and who should I can contact to follow up. For the legislation, how long will it be? CIC doesn't reject my case just asked me to wait. I don't want to wait forever. Any advice will be appreciated.
