The month of May has seen some 95,000 jobs created in Canada shocking the most optimistic of observers in Canadian labour market. This has been the biggest jump in job creating since 2002 according to the Ministry of Labour and the Central Bank.

The central bank expected conservative job gains of around 15,000 this past month this fueling excitement that Canada is finally coming out of the woods with respects to the 2009 economic recession. Statistics Canada has confirmed that these 95,000 jobs positions are more than six times the original estimate and have lowered unemployment rates a tenth of a percentage point to 7.1 percent.
