Mistakes in application - family sponsorship dependent - main applicant

Hi, what will happen when there is a mistake in the application form, primary applicant? Will they return the packet as it is? Will there be a chance to correct it?

I tried registering the application through the portal and I was not able to find the application. I took the application to verify the details and I was horrified to see I made these mistakes:
1) date of birth - used 2012 instead of 2014
2) country of birth - put in Canada instead of United States of America

It really depends what the mistake is.

You need to provide more information for an opinion.

I'm sorry, I updated my post.

Will I be able to send a corrected application form and tell them to replace the form I already sent? If that is possible, any format for that?

When did you send the app in?

You wont be able to correct anything without a file number/UCI.

Yes, it was concerning the child. I mailed the application on 15th July. How can I get the file number/UCI?

I was able to reach the call center and they said the application packet will be returned if there is any mistake in the form. They were quite rude about it though, I was just trying to get some questions answered :-(

My 18 month old son is here with me as a visitor and he has to leave by end of september. Do I need to make a trip to the US and back if the packet is returned?

I had my application returned. It happened quite quickly in my case but that was because I made a mistake with the financial payment. In your case it may take a little longer as it is a small detail you are talking about. I would prepare a new document and once you receive your UCI number you can send in a new document.

It is a major detail but they may not see it at first glance as largely they are looking for signatures, payment and correct forms.

Any idea whether the AOR will be generated after going through the whole application? or after just going through the checklist?
