Hi guys/gals

I'll keep this short as possible

As part of my work history for my express entry profile (Canadian Experience Class), I included my incorporated business and explained that I had been self employed as Managing Director from 2015-date. The company got incorporated in November 2016, but I was running my business before then.

The only problem was... I forgot to tick the box that said "self employed". I only realized this while I was filling out my Permanent residence Application!

My question is, is there any way to explain this mishap in my application in order to avoid misrepresentation issues?

It's not misrepresentation if you explain the error. However, since you won't get points for this experience, it will affect your CRS score (not enough info to know if it will also affect your eligibility). If you can remove the experience and still have a high enough CRS score to qualify for your draw, then a simple letter of explanation will suffice. However, if your CRS score will drop below the minimum score for your draw, then you should decline the ITA (and then you can edit your profile).

Thanks for the help. Not sure if you can calculate it, but I got a score of 442 and 40 Canadian work experience points. I did include other jobs which I had worked while running my business too
