My girlfriend and I are both International Students in the United States who just graduated and got our H1B temporary working visa in the United States. We are both from China and instead of going back all the way to get our H1B visa stamp at the US Embassy in Canada, we wanted to get it in Canada and at the same time tour around the beautiful country we always wanted to visit.

Unfortunately, when my girlfriend applied for the tourist visa, she put "Tourism" as the purpose of the visit, instead of "For US Visa".
Right after submitting her application, she realized this may be problematic, since our Visa on the passport is already outdated and we only have a I-797 (H1B Approval Notice) to prove our H1B temporary working status which we just received in October this year.

What should we do now? Our trip is coming up in a month, should we reapply? or call someone? or Email someone?

Please help.

The problem is that our original student visas on the passport for returning to United States is out of date. We will need the H1B stamp in US Embassy when we are in Canada in order to get our working visa status to show on our passport.

Would this be a problem?

As far as Canada is concerned that is not a problem.

The problem would be that in your application you didn't submit evidence of your approved status. You had to be very clear on what are you trying to do in Canada, for how long and what you plan to do after. If you didn't submit all the paperwork a refusal is highly probable. The "mistake" you mentioned is the least you should be concerned about IMO.

Yes my girlfriend forgot to upload the I-797 (Approval for H1B Temporary Working Visa) Form in her application.
Would somehow adding the I-797 and our US Embassy Appointment Confirmation email help with her process?
We do have all these documents.

If so, how should we get these two documents added to her application since there does not seem to be a way of changing her application details by now.

I saw there is a location to attach additional document where you notify the immigration department about address changes. Is that a good place to add these two documents to her application?

Thanks!

We did submit detailed itinerary about each place we are going to visit as well as hotel reservation emails for every night.
In our itinerary it also mentioned US Embassy for Visa purposes.

Would these have helped?
