Hi folks,

I am gathering documents after ITA, and found out that my name was spelled slightly wrong on my first few Payslips and my 2017 T4 form ( I use my English name at work so the HR lady misspelled my first name by missing an N in my first name...) Does it matter to submit documents with a slightly wrong first name? Should I add a letter of explanation or ask my boss to explain that for me?

Thank you guys!

Hi there, it won't matter as long as your SIN number is correct!
Thank you for answering that... The SIN and other information is absolutely correct (otherwise I don't think I would be able to get my pay and file my tax correctly...) Do you think I should explain though?

I had a similar question.
I have no last name on my passport.
But, i have a big enough name that it can be split (S**** A** X****).
My reference letter has the right name, but my payslips(has X**** S**** A**) and NOA(has A** X*** S******). I earlier thought this should'nt be an issue since i've been able to file and collect my returns without any hiccups.
*I have not attached any letter of Explanation.

But now i am having second thoughts. What do you think i should do?
Can i raise a web-form to update my profile with the letter of explanation? Please help!

Hi, I am currently in the same situation as yours, Did you get your PR? Were there any questions asked about the different names in your documents.

Please let me know. Thanks.
