Missing Stamp in Passport

Hi All,

I am appearing for my test on 28th March, and just found that i am missing one stamp ??? I was away from 15 Nov 2009- 19th March 2010 for wedding and visiting my parents. and the officer did not stamp my passport when i came back on the 19th of March, 2010.
I have my CSBA report showing that entry correctly, and i also have an exit stamp from my home country. I do have my boarding pass and am trying hard to find my ticket for that journey, but so far no luck. I have all the tickets+ boarding passes for all of my journeys over the last 4.5 years, but could not find this ticket ???
The other proof i have is that i applied for my health card on 22nd march, 2010 and that is valid from that date. I also have my ROE showing i started my job on 29th March, 2010.
Do you think this will be enough? ???

Hang on to that CBSA report. CIC will likely rely on that more. Be prepared to show it when your passport is scrutinized during the test/interview. Photocopy it too, and provide the CIC agent the copy after they've seen the original. I suggest you photocopy all the travel stamps in your passport in addition to the biographical page. The CIC agent I dealt with took those copies of my passport pages with her.

The boarding pass you kept is probably stronger proof that you traveled back. The air ticket itself doesn't really prove you returned.

In fact, I was in the same bind lacking a reentry stamp when I crossed by land to Canada in one trip. In my case, CIC basically confirmed that I ticked the consent to access my records with CBSA. CIC is doing the CBSA check in my behalf. They said it'll be quicker that way.

You're ahead of the game for having secured your CBSA record unlike me. I'm still awaiting decision on my case, pending the CBSA assessment, even though I already passed my test.

Thanks Torontonian 2003. how do i go about it? Do i leave it to the officer, or should i tell him in advance that i am missing one stamp? i also applied for my driving license on 22nd march 2010 and it also states that. i ticked the consent for CSBA report already, and have that handy. luckily all my entries are there correctly. I applied with 1183 days presence.

Just keep your supporting documents (especially the CBSA summary) handy. It's more than likely to crop up as CIC is very particular about the residency requirement. I don't see any harm of offering the CBSA report right when the agent begin flipping at your passport.

If you have multiple travels, remind yourself some basic details about the trip, your purpose and destination. Somehow, I have a feeling they are suspicious of prolonged trips. List them down in a table and the WHYS AND ACTUAL DATES just so you can be consistent with your answers.

CIC also asks for your study and/or employment details (within the 4 years since you applied or even till now). For the same reason, you're expected to demonstrate consistency in your answer so list down inclusive dates.

Be succinct and straight to the point with your answers. The whole interview is quick.

Thanks T2003. I do remember each date and all the details. That won't be an issue. I was just not sure what would be enough for them to be satisfied ??? It's their fault that they did not stamp my passport and they make us paranoid about all this.

I had 4 missing stamps for me and 5 for my wife, and one trip didnt show on CBSA report for my wife. The CIC officer didnt ask me anything about the missing stamps. Got oath 4 days after test.

My advice, dont mention it but if it comes up have the CBSA documents available.

The CBSA report is your best option. Also TRANSLATE all the stamps on your passport if they are not in English or French, THAT IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT in order to show your exit stamp from your home country on March 19, 2010.
