good day everyone!
it's so nice to be back here! :)

this site, together with you, wonderful people, has helped me and my husband to be together easier and faster, without costing us so much with that from a legal adviser.. we are so thankful in every help that you gave us, in every step of the way. :)

i've been here for a year now, on oct 20, and i, being away from my family, really misses them a lot. would it be possible for me to petition my grandma, mother, 3 brother (23, 20 & 10 y/o) and a sister 3 y/o? if so, what steps should i take. if i can't get them all at once who should i get first?

thank you so much and more power to you all! :)

The best you can do is apply for a parents super visa. You can't sponsor siblings who have parents who are still alive. If they were an only child and orphan then you could but you say you have been in Canada a year? I realistically think that you can't sponsor any of your family for PR. Sponsoring of parents is currently on hold and as for siblings, well that is impossible with the circumstances you have mentioned.

hi, thanks for your immediate response :) . could you tell me, realistically, how many years will it takes to sponsor my mom? and would you have any idea why is sponsoring parents on hold? :(

I think you have to have lived in Canada as PR 3 years before you could sponsor anybody and even if the programme is open the wait times are horrific. I believe it is 3 years but not 100%. So you would have to fulfil 2 more years of your PR to apply and then the process to sponsor your mom would take an additional 3 years. Also you will be taking your mom away from your siblings. I think you may have serious issues sponsoring your mom.

oh boy! :( well, i still have 2 more years to fulfill, so my siblings would be old enough by that time. i just hope there won't be much restrictions that the immigration/government will do during those years... :)

so in case that i am approved to petition my mom in 3 years (hopefully!!), she, then, can petition my siblings, can's she? :)

I thought you would ask that question. I think the sponsorship is going to be very very difficult because you are taking your mom away from your 3 y/o sister and your 10 y/o brother. They are likely to look at these factors when deciding on sponsorship and the likelihood of your mother of coming to Canada to then sponsor your siblings, it raises a few red flags here.

Anyhoo good luck. :D

oh boy, that makes it look harder! if all else fails, we'll probably just go back for vacations! ;D
1 more question...does my grandma falls on parents visa? or should i asked my aunt here (my grandma's daughter) for her to sponsor? she has been here for 5 years now. thanks!

Yes I just checked, Grandma does come under parents/ Grandparents visa. If that was successful, then she would have to wait 3 years as a PR before she could sponsor her children (your siblings) and even then they must be dependants (not married). This whole process as mentioned will be very very difficult and time consuming and your probably looking in the region 10-15 years to reunite your whole family if CIC agree with all these applications and all your siblings remain unmarried.

Your grandma's daughter is entitled to sponsor her and her only but once again the parent/ grandparent visa has been closed 1 year and will be closed at least another year (check CIC website).

As a separate question is it not easier to sponsor your husband to return to your birth country so you can be reunited? This is something CIC will look at.

Just looked at CIC website again and it is a 2 stage sponsorship just like spousal sponsorship. Once it opens again. Wait times are currently 31-55 months for stage 1 and about 36 months for stage 2. So anywhere from 6 years to 8 years for your mom to land as a PR once they reopen the programme.

Have you already checked out the provisions of Supervisa? Might be worth your while having a look there. Good Luck.
