Miss a call from CBSA

I missed a call at 4:48pm. It shows "private private" as caller ID, the phone number is 204-230-6914. Called back, nobody answer, and go to voice mall. The women says " this is XXX associated with Canada boarder service agency human resource, please leave message..." I checked the phone number on Google, nothing come up. I checked CBSA site, there is only 1-800 number.

I didn't across boarder since last June. Is this a scam call or should I treat it seriously?

Cbsa called me to collect some more info when I applied travel history apart from that they usually don't call.
Sometime they call if visitors use someone name when entering canada to confirm the identity and intention of the visitor.

I got citizenship already earlier this year, the last time I enter Canada was 2015 June, since then I never leave the country. I don't have anyone visit me from oversea. That's odd.

I did revise track on line, the phone number is belong to Rogers wireless. Does CBSA use cell phone to contact people?

There are lot of scam calls, claiming they calling from CRA, CBSA etc. If this was genuine call from CBSA, they would leave complete message and reason for call.

I suspect the call you got was from some SCAMSTER, do not give your personal details ask them to send a letter.
