Our family got a pr visa. But before our children lands the principal applicant died (father). Can our children use their visa? I already asked our visa issuing office but they the
selves dont know the answer. What shall i do? We already have tickets for march 5. As their mother i am already a landed immigrant. What are the possible questions for minors? Are they going to ask about the principal? We will bring my husband ash to canada thats why it is not possible to hide his death.

I don't really know to be honest. The guidelines the immigration officers follow do not mention at all what happens if the principal applicant passes away after landing but before the dependents arrive so they're bound to follow protocol and allow them to land. Just be sure to take his landing papers and his certificate of death. Be sure to let us know how it went.

In previous posts the OP has been told that as she has "landed" prior to her spouses demise, the children can "land". She has also been told the same by CIC.

I cant hold onto what the cic ( in-canada) told me that children can land because when i emailed our visa-issuing office ( Seattle) they saud that they dont know the answer for my situation and that they will do some researches. My time is running out as i need to go back to Canada this week with the kids, i cant wait for their reply thats why i will be trying our luck if they will allow my children to land and become a pr.

The only thing you can do is try. Did your husband already land himself before he died? Normally the principal applicant needs to land before or at the same time as other applicants.

Go try, there isn't anything in the manuals covering your situation so the immigration officers should allow them to become PR since your husband (the principal applicant) landed before.

Thank you guys for the replies. Ill be posting here what will happen when i take the kids. After all, i am already a landed immigrant and will be able to sponsor them if they were refused entry, but thats not i want coz i want to be with kids so much now that they lost their father. I hope that immigration officer will be more compassionate.
