Minor biometric for Open Study Permit?

I came recently to Canada on a work permit. And both my kids are minors, one 9 and another is 13 years. I want to bring them to Canada on an Open study permit. Do we need to give their biometric for Open Study Permit?

Please let me know.

I have no idea what an open study permit is, but biometrics are not required below 14 years of age.
