hello, i have an enquiry and hope anyone can help.

my husband applied to citizenship and received it 6 month ago OCTOBER 2014 alone because he came to canada 6months before me.

once he got the citizenship certificate he applied for our 2 kids (12 & 9 years old) alone OCTOBER 2014 attaching his certificate and sent to Sydny as regular process. we received the AOR for them but since october it is still RECEIVED. we called them they said even minor application can take 24 months process.

In November 2014 i applied alone for citizenship after completing my days. and received AOR and still waiting.

any one had a similar situation? how long do you think my kids can have the citizenship. note that they have no test no oath.

Why did you not send in the application of the minors along with yours or your husbands?

because it was supposed to send with mine. but after he got the citizenship we decided to send the minors directly with his certificate. inorder to gain time for them.

Now they would go under the same process. It is supposed to be easier of course but still a process with unknown variables in terms of timing. It's too late to talk about this now, but for the sake of future reference for other folks, the children do not have to attain the required physical presence requirements of 1095 days in order to get their citizenship. If the parents get the Citizenship then by default the children will take it if applied under the same filing.
