Hi Guys!

Hoping I can get some insight, advice, or opinions - Thanks in advance!

I am currently choosing between applying to the CEC or the BC PNP - International Graduate Category.

I graduated from UBC, and English is my first language. I decided to stay in Canada last minute and got a PGWP, but took a year off to travel and relax after a very hectic undergraduate degree I am currently working a level B job, and have began my application process for PR, via the BC PNP. I have been invited to apply already with the PNP.

However, my goal is to move to the east coast ASAP after I get PR, and not want my life or death to be in my current employer's hand.

I know the PNP may be time consuming, the whole process taking 1.5 - 2 years start to finish. I am more than able to get the required 1560 hours with this job. I also think it costs less for the CEC ($490) vs the PNP ($700)

My current PNP Score is 90, and CRS is 482.

1. In Which stream would I have a better shot at gaining PR? Does a provincial nomination make a huge difference?

2. Which stream would take less time/ be easier and allow me mobility and not tied to my current job?

Thank you!

Others maybe can correct me unless I have misread you have a score of 482 and not applying for express entry if you qualify ? The latest round was at 415 points http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/express-entry/rounds.asp

Anyway once you have PR then technically/legally you can live and work in any province.

Do you know if they only look at points?

Or is every case (for Express Entry) reviewed individually?

If you truly have a CSR of 482, you should be in on the next draw.
For receiving an ITA, they look only at points.
Then you will have to document everything on your application and then they will check every case one by one.

Hey guys,

I am new here. I am a bit confused. My CRS score is 428 right now. What are my chances to get an ITA in next draw? Can any one suggest?

Thanks

Seems like the CEC is riskier but for the PNP your life is literally in your employers hands..

Last draw was 415.
It really depends on them... there is no way to predict it.

If your score is 482 do the Express Entry draw. CEC is the way to go.. BC PNP is really time consuming. With the current drastic drop in scores and you having a high score CEC would be a really easy option for you. I waited 3 years to get my PPR and this was the time when there was no Express Entry. Had i to go back in time i would opt for the Express Entry Option. Its straightforward you have to be careful in a few areas like you Reference Letters and mainly with your PCC along with the Correct NOC. But everything you want guidance for the CEC Checklist helps you and you have this forum to ask questions as well.

Good Luck

Have you actually submitted your profile yet? Because from your first post, it sounds like you are not yet eligible, because you have not yet worked a full year.

(BTW, you only count hours if you work part-time. If you work full-time (defined as "30 or more hours per week", then you simply need to work for one year / 52 weeks...)

Good luck. Even with a lawyer, it is important for YOU to understand the process and the rules...
