I'm a Canadian applying to sponsor my Korean wife for Permanent Residency in Canada.

On the Sponsor document checklist, under Supporting Documents, it states that the Minimum necessary income requirement must be shown/met, and if it isn't additional documentation is required.

What is the minimum necessary income requirement? As in, what is the amount in Canadian dollars per year?

If there are no dependants involved (children!) there is no minimum income requirement :)

There is no minimum income. You will have to show NoA's or Option C's from CRA (or have some plan to re-settle if you are not in Canada). But that's more to show that you are not in receipt of social assistance. They will also verify there is non-discharged bankruptcy.

Technically, the answer is $0 CAD, because there is no minimum income requirement for a spousal sponsorship. There is for sponsoring a parent or grand parent, which is also part of the Family Class.

You simply cannot be receiving Social Assistance (Welfare). Just explain how you will support yourselves, initially, until your wife gets established in Canada. This can include letters from family/friends, offering help if needed.

It's only dependent children with dependent children of their own that trigger the income requirement under spousal, not just a dependent child.

Ah, okay. That makes things unusually easy for that part of the application.

Thank-you all for the fast and helpful replies.
