Hi everyone, I hope someone can give me answer. I apploed my Mom and my stepdad to visit me here in canada last May 12,2017 for them to attend my wedding. I still dont have any result from thw immigration, that is why I seek help from our MP here in british columbia, she talked to the immigration and told her that they approved my mother's application but cannot release it since the 3rd party from military which is unfortunately not in the hands of immigration is still doing a background checking for my stepdad.by the way my stepdad is a police officer back in the Philippines. Is there any way that I can get the email address or phone number to contact the 3rd party? Is there anyone here know what is the 3rd party? My wedding is within 2weeks an I am so hopeless that I am not able to see them in my wedding. Please email me (angel_zas192@yahoo.com) if someone can help me.

Unfortunately you will not be able to contact the people doing the background checks. I would suggest you call the general number and see if there is a possibility that your mother may be able to come without your stepdad. Maybe she could also go to the Canadian embassy in her city, if it is not too inconvenient, and see if it would be possible to sever the application so that she is on a separate application or apply for a new travel visa for just her and see if they can expedite it. I am sorry you are going through this. I hope you are able to get at least one parent there or you may have to have another ceremony in the Philippines which is actually very common.
