Hi All,
I am working on my citizenship application now. I have a long middle name. As per question 4 a) of the citizenship application,
"What is your name as shown exactly on your most recent immigration document? Copy your
name exactly as it appears on your most recent immigration document: Permanent Resident
Card (PR Card), or Confirmation of Permanent Residence, or Record of Landing."
The questions asks to write the name EXACTLY as it appears on the PR card, since it is the most recent document.
Now since my middle name is too long, on the PR card they did the following
1. removed one name/word from my middle name
2. truncated one word at the end of the name.
for example (as per question 4 a),
Q: Family name: (last name)
A: my_family_name
Q. Given name(s) --> if I input it as it appears on my PR card, it will be like
A: First_name middle_name1 middle_name2 middle_name3(TRUNCATED)
However as it appears on my passports, the answer should be
Q. Given name(s) --> if I input it as it appears on my PASSPORT, it will be like
A: First_name middle_name1 middle_name2 middle_name3 middle_name4
By truncating one middle name, I mean if the name is XXXYYY, it appears as XXX only (half of the name, three letters of the name only).
What do you suggest I do? my options are:
Option1: follow the instructions they provide with the question and write the name exactly as it appears on my PR card (with one middle name removed and another truncated)? They require my UCI, and in my express entry application I entered my full name as it appears on my passport. This should indicate that they may have my full name as it appears on my passport in the system. In this case
a. Is this assumption (that they have my full name on the system) reasonable?
b. Will it cause in issue my citizenship documents? like what will be the name that will appear on my citizenship document?
Options2: Write my name exactly as it appears on my passport. This obviously is not what is described in the question but what they should (guessing here) have it in the system.
Option 3: do not include the truncated name. It is Ok with me to do so and have two middle names only included, however as option 2, by doing so I did not follow the instruction provided in the question and may be considered as alteration in the name.
Has anyone faced a similar problem before? what do you suggest I do? I would like to avoid my application being sent back to me because of such issue.
Thanks a lot in advance
