I am about to submit sponsorship application for my dependant child who was born outside Canada. He is currently with me in Canada on TRV.

Once we submitted application, they granted us TRV immediately and asked us to submit medicals. Once we submitted medicals, then stamped visa.

Now what I am wondering is, do we need to re-submit medicals while preparing his file for family sponsorship or we can attach medical fee receipts we got earlier along with application? Do we need to submi medical again? I know, since he is infant, there is no much medical formalities but want to know if I can use previously submitted?

As you know I have no experience on this but in my view since you have medicals done before entering canada, it should not be required again.

I also have same impression but that's not confirmed anywhere on CIC website. Additionally, last question on this link says, I'd need to redo it.

Medicals are valid for 12 months. If your case doesn't have a decision made within 12 months then you will need to re-do the medicals but you can wait until you are asked to provide them before getting them done again. Once you pass the 12 month mark just be ready to get them done again, the same applies for kids.

I know that sounds silly but it's how they work

- 12 month medicals despite taking 24 months to decide
- 60 day notice on FBI checks despite it taking 120 days to get from FBI
etc.
