Please I need opinions on whether pregnant spouses can go through medicals. I heard that they could be denied medicals such as x-rays etc owing to their pregnancy. Is this true. We are due for medicals and wife is pregnant....wondering if this could be a problem during medicals.

Thanks for your opinions!

There are some DMP might agree to do X-ray of your wife on protective sheild (depends on the duration of pregnancy and DMP's safe practice rules) and there are a number of our forum friends informed to have done of their spouses under similar context. However all of them were kept waiting until the new baby born and they could finished with updating information and docs of the new babies (birth certificate, passport IMM form, fees). So its up to you whether you like to go for your spouse medical right now or better decide to wait.... I know one of our Forum friend "IMU" who you can contact through PM to get more practical advises on this. All the best

Went through the same with my wife. Family doctor told us that it is not safe to do X-ray during the first trimester (First 12 weeks of pregnancy). We were lucky because my wife was in her second trimester by the time we received medical request, so our family doctor gave a consent to the DMP to do X-ray so long as a shield was used. X-ray was succesfully done. After two months we got passport request. We send in our passports which took two weeks then we got them back with visas. We moved to Canada where my child was born. Thank God, my child is doing fine and has never had any complications. All the best, never give up.
You were lucky mate as many of the similar cases putting on hold until the baby born and associated work done...Its very rare that they allow PPR (even after medical done of preg spouse) before the newborn added. May be the time you applied admission to CAN was not bounded by factors as its been right now which might have made all the difference
