Medicals, FBI, Bank ltr Submitted, Interview Waived (Can I apply for Visit Visa)

Hi guys,

I have already submitted my medicals, FBI, Police Clearance and Bank Letter. My Interview was waived off. Its been two months my status is still "In Process". Hopefully I get call for passport soon.

Meanwhile I wanna go and see my friends in Toronto. My visit visa is already expired.

Questions:

1) Would it be safe to apply for visit visa at this point of time and visit Canada?
Suggestions ? Personal Experiences?
2) My lawyer told me that after medicals submission it takes around 4 months to hear from Canadian Embassy to send Passport. But I read here in forum that Annual Quota cap thing for PR is already reached in November 2008 and now people will have to wait for Jan 2009 to hear from Buffalo office.. any news on that?

Hi there,

I was granted a visitor Visa right before I was asked to submit my medical exams, bank statement and landing fee. I travelled to Toronto to visit some friends. There was no problem at all. Just make sure you fill the section on the Visitor Visa Application form in which you are asked if you have applied for PR to Canada. I believe I also wrote down my file number just in case, and everything went very well. I got my Visitor Visa within two weeks.
