Medicals done in October 2011...Still waiting for PPR

Dear seniors,

Could you please advise. I applied in April 2011. Received MR in September 2011. Medicals were received on October 10th 2011. Status updated as "medicals have been received". Since October 2011, my status still shows as "In process". My visa office is London VO.

Any idea as to why there is so much delay for PR? I sent email to London VO and got a standard response from them last month that all the documents have been received and placed on file and no action needs to be taken at this point in time.

GSM, you are lucky to have received the medical within 6 months of filing the application, there are people who have been in process for more than 2 years. Don't loose hope, keep in mind approximately 2-4 months for PPR after medicals, however, teh trend on teh forum shows that timeline for PPR after medicals is not fixed and varies greatly esp for LVO.

If you get a reply from LVO then its better to wait for few months.

You should definitely write to the immigration office asking for what is the reason for delay and if they have received all your documents correctly.

I waited a month and wrote to them, only to find out that they were still waiting for an important Police Clearance certificate - which i said would have been difficultly in collecting - but i still put the effort and sent it later on, right after a week i sent it i got my PPR.

In any case, hopefully they will also write back to you!

It is believed that your background checks are in progress. This is what they always say when applicants approach them.
I have done my Meds in Dec-2011 and today i got a call from my consultant that he has received my PPR-1 on 30th April2012.
(He is a lazy fellow, telling me this incredible news after ONE WEEK) anyway..
I applied in 2009 and got my Medical request in November 2011.
On other hand, my nephew who applied with exactly the same timeline as mine, has done TWO medicals (2010, expired at January2011 and then again in March2011, expired in March2012) n never got PPR.

So i suggest you to wait and pray. May Allah bless you soon!

My timeline in brief:

Application received by CIC: 7th April 2011
Medical request: 26th September 2011
Medical received by CIC: 13th October 2011
Ecas status: "Medical received", In process

It is now more than 7 months since my medicals were received by them


Many thanks for the response mythestic and others.

My consultant sent couple of queries to london VO and two days back I got a response from the London VO stating that the file is "currently awaiting officer review and I shall be contacted if any additional information is required"

Any idea how many more months it would take.

Also can i contact the London VO directly - not through my consultant - because when i told my consultant to order for CAIPES notes, they are charging me a fee of $150.

With reference to the timeline mentioned above could you please let me know how many more months do i have to wait?? (It is almost 8 months now since my medicals were received by the London VO..
