Hi there,

Last week my LMIA was approved so I now have 900 points in the E.E Pool which means I should get my ITA soon. I have the paper work for CEC ready and I was thinking of going getting my medicals and Finger prints done now so that when I get my ITA I will have every thing ready to go.Can I do them both now or Do I have to wait until I get a letter from CIC requesting my fingerprints and medicals with a file number and address on there for both clinics to send the results away to. Any help is greatly appreciated

It's best to provide them with whatever they need now and then when it's time for security check and medicals, they will notify you. Rule of thumb: do not provide information unless you are asked to.

Congrats on your LMIA and best of luck,

Agreed. And while ALL applicants will have to do the medical, most applicants do not get a request for a fingerprint-based RCMP clearance (CIC doesn't want your fingerprints, they merely want proof of no criminal record).

IRCC conducts a name-based criminal record check in Canada for ALL applicants. For most applicants, this is enough. However, for other applicants, the name-based check can return a criminal record, even if it is for someone else that has the same name. Only then does CIC request a fingerprint-based RCMP clearance.
