Hi there everyone. My husbands medical is booked for april 5th and he got the reminder letter today. In the letter it states that we are to bring any papers that are to go to the canadian embassy here in london. Couple of questions. First, I know we are to bring the form that the medical personel is to sign but are we to bring anything else? I phoned the lady and she told me 4 passport photos and appendix C form ( which i know is the medical form) so is that all? Second, I believe they dont give you the results of the medical they send it right to the embassy or visa office that it is intended to go to so, if they receive the results before the application is sent in will they keep it? Thirdly, after you get the medical how long do you have to send in the rest of the paperwork? Thanks and hope to hear from you all soon,

Just the photos and Appendix C for a first medical.

Yes, the results of the medical will be held until requested by the embassy.

They are good for a year, but you really shouldn't wait that long to submit your application.

I just came up with another quick question. See the passport photos my husband is to take to the medical, are they uk passport photo standards or canadian passport photo standards?

Just bring that paper that is in "The Immigrants Guide" for western europe. Appendix B it is called.

It needs to be what they call "Canadian Immigration" photos. The size of the photo is the same, but the head needs to be a bit smaller than normal passport photos (atleast the ones we have in Germany, the photographer need to zoom out a bit).

They are Canadian passport photos (these are not the same size as the immigration photos.) The specification is in the country specific portion of the application.

One of the photos will be attached to the original IMM 1017EFC that is provided to you by the doctor's office. They will stamp it (everything get's stamped with the DMP-specific numerical stamp) and return it to you - that is the document you either submit with your application or send to the visa office (if you have already submitted the application.) That document has a unique serial number on it, which allows the visa office to match up your application with the medical records.

Medical decisions are actually made in Ottawa; the visa office only receives a form from Ottawa advising them of your medical results.
