Hi friends,

I wanted to know what medical tests are being done for Canadian Immigration? Is lipid profile, liver profile, etc. also considered for immigration?

Looking forward to expert opinions on my query.

Thanks!

You cannot use your own doctors and prior test results. You must use a doctor in your country of origin (which is not necessarily the country you current live in). The only exception to this rule is if you currently have legal work/student status in Canada. Follow the link below to find a physician in your country of origin (unless you are in Canada).

Link: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/medical/medexams-perm.asp

Note: If you are a citizen of more than 1 country you can take the test in any country for which you have a passport for.

Incorrect. You can get the Medicals done by a CIC panel physician in any country regardless of your country of origin.

I feel that my question has been misinterpreted. I know there is a panel of physicians for medical test. However, my question is what tests are involved in the medical process? I came to know that there are following tests:

Chest X-ray
Vdlr test
HIV test
Urine Test

Is there any other test involved as well.

Thanks!

1. Read the Panel Physicians Handbook, list all the tests http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/publications/dmp-handbook/

There isn't much information available on what tests they actually perform. What is clear is that the physician can refer you for additional tests. What most applicants medicals results suggest is that unless the issue requires excessive demand on healthcare system, the results will be "passed". I personally do not think lipid profiles should cause a rejection but do not take my word for it, give this page (and any hyperlinks) a good read and you should get the answer

All the best
