HI Guys,

What if there is a trace of blood in my urine?

I did a urinalysis that was requested by my family doctor, and the result was 3+.
I have also done ultrasound (to check kidney, bladder, urine flow, stones, crystal), test came clear. No problems at all.
Did cystoscopy, and again, no problems. All clear.

My family doctor said there is nothing else to check.

And now? What can I do to avoid blood in urine? Will do my tests in 2 days.

Thanks

Drink lot of water before your test as that will dilute your urine sample.

If possible pee 1 hr before giving sample too..

Hello Letstry21,

Thank you so much!!

I will do that.

If there is anything else you remember that will help me, please let me know.

Tks!

Hi,
avoid any exercise or heavy physical activity the day before your medicals. Also drinking a lot of water at the same day of your medical test in order to flush out your urinary tract is helpful. Also ladies shouldn't go for the test during their period. This should help. Good luck.

Exactly the same thing happened to me last year.

I went for the second test with my doc and still +3 showed up! Then CIC sent me a letter asking for another test to my home address. The last test came out clear as crystal. Here is the thread I started last year: http://bit.ly/1xyvqfM

Just remember as it's mentioned as well, do not do any exercise before the test and drink a lot of water! For the third test I actually ate a whole watermelon the day before. There might be a slight possibility of having some tiny tiny kidney stones/sand. Go through the thread I shared and you'll see all the details.

You don't have to worry about anything. It's all fine. It just delays the process, that's all.

Best of luck,

Blood in urine in itself a worrying factor but good to hear that your Kidneys, liver and urinary tract are fine.
Like others have advised you, just relax and drink a lot of fluids.
The following link might be helpful.

Take all precautions suggested by everyone, but if still blood comes in Urine while medical checkup, ask your immigration doctor to take eGFR/Creatinine test additionally, otherwise CIC will definitely ask to give further test and it will delay your processing.

Ignore about imigration process but make sure your health is good..
I read somewhere that it is not a good sign.. Don't worry but make sure to consult correct doctor..

Hi Guys,

I would like to thank you all for taking the time answering my post. :D

Definitely, I will do everything you guys have suggested!

I had to change my appointment for next Monday. Now, I have more time to go thru a healthy and "liquid"diet. ;)
Hopefully, everything will go smooth.

Thank you for sharing your experiences, links, etc.

Best of luck to all of you!

I had passed through the kidney stone one day before my medical test and I drank a lots of water. In result, no blood was recorded in test. Do not do any exercise (even running).

One more thing, doctor should be able to tell right away about blood in urine. You gotta ask your doctor.

Hey Guys,

Sorry to bother. One more question: I have copies of all my results (Ultrasound, and cystoscopy). Should I bring them to the immigration doctor, and let him know upfront that blood was found in my urine? Or, less information the better?

Tks!

Better be straight !!! Even without the reports, he/she will ask you for previous medical history.
