Guys I am a medical doctor and have Ph.D in nutrition from a reputable European univrersity. In addition I worked as an assitant professor in my home country for more than 10 years. Now I am a permanent resident of Canada. I heared from some people that it will impossible for me to join Canadian universities as an assistant professor whatever I do. I am thinking of taking MCCEE (the evaluating examination) and look a residency position in Otario. How difficult is it to get a residency position there?. It is quite sometime since I last practice medicine! I was a a Ph.D student or teacher for most of the last 20 years.

Your advice is highly appreciate. I want to take a decision!

Academic appointments are very difficult to obtain these days. Universities are turning to temporary adjunct labor. This tendency isn't as pronounced in Canada as it is in the U.S., but getting a full-time, permanent academic appointment is very difficult regardless of where you come from.
