Medical requested now what?

Hey guys.

Yesterday after well over a year and a half we finally received an UCI and Application no + a medial request.
I'm just not entirely sure where we are in our application and what's next so was hoping someone could answer us some questions.

One, does this mean all the submitted documents are accepted and that's why they requested a medical exam? and two, we welcomed our second boy into our life two days ago and I remember when we had our first we had to send a birth certificate but should we do this again? Will it interfere with anything that's currently being progressed?

Sorry for asking questions that's probably been asked a thousand times and thank you for replying.

First of all,congratulations on your boy and God bless them both! Second,congrats on the progress of your file. It means that there are no missing forms and they progress to review your app. It’s a normal step forward. Now you should do your medical and submit it. Then they will proceed checking the eligibility and genuineness of your relationship. They might request additional documents or proofs.
You must inform IRCC about any change in your situation and information. The birth of a child is a big one and you are definitely need to let them know asap. No,it should not interfere with the process,might slow it down a bit. Anyways,you must do it, otherwise you will never be able to sponsor this child. Good luck
