Medical Request--Principal Applicant in USA, Wife in Home Country

Hello Everyone,
I am here just posting for some knowledge please, I have got a request of medical from CIC London
I want to stay in USA in for atleast 4 years more. I just cant spend the 3 years time period that is required by Canadian Immigration to live in canada.
Soon they will ask for passport request after medical being done.
My question is is there any way that I keep on living in USA for next 4 years and in the mean time my canadian permanent citizen ship thing keeps on moving?
