Hi,

I understand that the medical report of the residency applicant must be included in the package going to Mississagua. My understanding is that the documents collected during the exam have been sent to Mississagua.

My questions are

1) how does the processing center in Missassaugua know that these documents are for a specific case if they have not received the documents yet (they were sent a few weeks later )?
2) Once the sponsorship is approved, does the Missassagua processing center ship all the medical stuff (and other documents) to the VISA officies, in our case Pretoria South Africa ?
3) also on one of the forms (IMM1017) the doctors gave as proof of medical exam, there was a mention to send the documents to Kenya (not Missassaugua) is there a chance they made a mistake and they sent the documents to Kenya instead of Canada ? Is there a reason why an authorized DMP send the documents anywhere else but Canada ?

when you take your medical you will be given a form to send with your app that has both your photo and a number to match it up with your medical info once it arrives there (these also have your photo on them)

Don't worry. The medical is always done before an application is sent in as you have to submit proof of the medical exam with your application.

The medical report does not go to Mississauga -- only your proof of having it done (ie. your receipt) goes to them. The actual medical report would go the Regional Medical Centre responsible for handling applications from that area. It may be that the RMC is in Kenya.

And to continue... once the medical report reaches the Regional Medical Centre, it just sits there until a visa office requests it. For that, they use the form you send them, the IMM 1017 that the doctor has to give you after the medical exam. There is a barcode on that form that matches the barcode on the test results at the Regional Medical Centre, the visa office can quickly get the results from them by using that form.

Hi everyone!
I'm new here on this site...I spoke to my friend's husband who recently received his pr. He told me that usually immigration only asks for the medical after they accept the sponsor as a sponsor. He also told me that I should not make my husband take his medicals before they accept me as a sponsor or he will have to redo them...since mostly everyone's medicals usually expire!!! Considering the checklist asks for proof of the medical...I don't want to not send them in and have them reject us. What do you think? Just send it in and if they expire, have my sweetie redo them? Any advice is welcomed.
Thanks,
lovebajan

according to the checklist your medicals must be included into your application, so it's strongly recommended to have them done before you submit your paperwork to Mississauga office.
medicals are valid for a year. depending on your visa office timeline there's always a chance that your application will be approved before your medicals expire.

I think that's bad advice.

As Suin said, medicals are a required part of your application package. Not including them will only mean a delay to your file since the visa office will then have to ask you to get your medical done and then wait til you send them proof of this. Some people's medicals will definitely expire but I wouldn't say almost everyone's will. Many people have their application processed in less than a year, but it completely depends which visa office you're dealing with. The best advice that I can give you is to do the medicals just before you send in your application.
