Hi everyone,
I am sponsoring my wife over, submitted our application in December 2016. My wife did a medical examination back in late September 2016.
Issue #1:
We received a request to re-do her medical examination and request to submit her passport a few days after. The thing is, she will need her passport to ID herself when doing the medical exam.
Background:
She graduated from her studies in Canada recently and had to return to Australia while we wait for the sponsorship approval.
Less than 2 weeks ago, we received a request for her to re-do her medical examination within 30 days of receiving the letter. After logging in, we found out the status has changed from medical results have passed to, medical exam requested. Immediately, we submitted a webform indicating we still have an valid medical exam from late September. They responded nearly immediately with the standard response saying we may need extra time to prepare for emigration. We again responded telling them she actually has a return ticket (uploaded to cic) back to Canada before the medical exam expires - no response from them.
Yesterday, we received a letter asking her to submit her passport within 20 days. We submitted message asking them for advice on what to do, as there's a date clash - again, no response.. Logging in, we realized the status was changed back to "medical results have passed", we did book her in for a test on the first available time slot which is next week.
Concern:
Purely from observation, it makes sense to ignore the re-assessment letter and just submit our passport. The problem is, the first letter clearly states that she must conduct a medical test within 30 days otherwise our application could be refused.
What should we do?
Issue #2:
Our VO is Hong Kong. The instructions to submit her passport asks us to send our passport based on where we reside. The list mentions China, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan.
Our guess is she would courier her passport to China as her passport's nationality is China, but I can't be certain. The instructions does clearly state that you send it to the set destination based on where you reside, e.g. if a Taiwanese citizen resides in China, they still send it to the China VO.

Your thoughts? For citizens of a country required to obtain a visa to Canada:
If you reside in the People’s Republic of China, you must submit your package to the Visa Application Centre in Beijing along with the VAC Passport Transmission fee (please note that only the Visa Application Centre in Beijing can be used for Passport Transmission of Permanent Resident applications):

If you reside in Hong Kong or Macao, you must submit your package to the Visa Application Centre in Hong Kong along with the VAC Passport Transmission fee:

Similarly for Taiwan...
