Medical re-assessment email confusion

Hi - just received an email for a medical re-assessment:

The results of initial medical examinations for yourself and your dependent has expired. In order to provide your application with an updated validity we require following additional medical examination(s) for yourself:

- Chest Xray (in DICOM / JPEG format) with report (in PDF)
- Completed MEDICAL REPORT CHEST X-RAY REQUISITION AND REPORT form (Page 5 and 6 of IMM5419) (in PDF)
- Duly completed Re-assessment Form (Attached herewith)

This has come from DELHI.MCREASSESSMENT@international.gc.ca so not sure if my application has moved on to local visa office..... Also, I don't know why only xray reassessment is mentioned!?

Any idea, guys?

My spouse got a similar email saying that her medical results submitted last year from India (she was in India when she submitted her medicals )for our PR application together had expired. She went through a complete medical reassessment again early this week and we submitted the results couple of days back. hope that helps.

I guess if applicant is in Canada Medicals can be extended by VO, but if you're abroad chances are to redo Medicals after a year.

With processing times so long it's a big issue to repeat MR, radiation exposure and money expending

On the bright side at least CIC is working on your application, not everybody can say it

can u pls confirm if the email you'd received for your wife had complete reassessment mentioned or only xrays? did the email come from local visa office?

and, when did your wife's original medical expire(d)? my original medical expires in mar'2016 s not sure why a reassessment is needed...

thx but my issue is that the medicals done last yr has still not expired and i am being asked to do it again, maybe only the xray part.... no clue where all of this is going!

I feel you are worrying more unnecessarily. There could be several reasons behind asking only x-ray now. If something severe they would have asked you to do more along with x-ray. I feel it is just x-ray was not clear.

Do it ASAP everything will be fine.

You can try to get an answer by email or calling but I guess you have to provide that they requested for specially if CIC provided a deadline

Re-assessment completed. And, it's heartening to read this on CIC's website:

The process (of medical reassessment) applies only to cases where a final decision is pending due to either:
- the expiration of a medical certificate; or,
- when the validity of the medical certificate is about to expire and the applicant is unable to land before it expires.

Sorry bud i got busy. This is the email my wife got on her gmail id. It was sent right when the results expired on Jan 21st 2015

Had the same exact mail on January 8th.. 3 days after i got the rrpf request,
i know another person who got the same in dec end, he got the ppr 2 weeks ago ..


Is it bad for your application - No since, its necessary for people who left the country, and its actually good they are focusing on the file.

Will it extend the medical deadline for people like me who had it in feb 2015? No idea at all!
