OK everyone I have some important information you should know about your medicals , straight from the horses mouth (IO) .( Inland only )

Your medicals can be extended for 2 years if 'The medical ' was good ! 1 year if it isnt good , now this I do not know exactly how spot on your medical has to be .

This is only if your PR application has not been finalized in 10 months to 1 year .


After a long conversation with my IO this morning regarding re do meds , he explained my medicals were extended for 2 years as my application is still in process with CSIS so Dec 8th 2010 is the date I should re do meds, However, I was advised there is no rush till after Christmas as nothing much will be happening before then ., And they did NOT request me to do another medical in Dec 09 as my records came back good in 2008 !


Also for the dependants application I have to go and sign a document this week agreeing I cannot sponser them in the future as my dependants DID NOT do their medical when requested.

Thanks eyeoftheocean, that is good to know, I know my medical "expired" on Sep 10 so hopefully I am good for 2 years...may also explain the 2 years I received on the OWP......

It sounds like your medical as been extended too And yes thats probably why your OWP is for 2 years ...

Going to see my IO this week so am gunna bombard him with questions lol

This is really valuable info we didn't know at all, Eye... a lot makes sense now like Kris says.... it also explains why I wasn't requested a new one (my whole process took 13.5 months) after one year had elapsed for those results and they must have been "the good ones" kind as the doctor had phoned me to say everything was ok...
That was a great knowledgeable agent over the phone you got...

Yeah because when my medical were misplaced by Ottawa, and found out later. The CIC agent advised me to sent out the old receipts as a proof for the request made by IO.
She said the only reason IO asked medical from you because there was no record available initially to begin with. She also told me that IO will always ask Ottawa if the medical validity can be extended before asking for a second medical. So this make sense that depending on your results they extends the validity.

But i guess this is only true for Inland applicants.

PR IO at your local IO is the man indeed!. If they only had one of those at my local office, things woulda been nicer for me when I went once and dude at the front desk didn't even pretend to care ("Clerks" movie style)...

Sorry you had a no info at your local office , at least here we can all share knowledge we have regarding immigration matters

I went to see an immigration consultant years ago, just to get advice what foms I needed, and she was from England, immigrated here 20 years ago...I mean how hard is it to help people and get paid $$$$$$$ lol .. I can do that ,,although she never advised me I could apply outland from inland my comrades here told me this lol ...

IO asked me to call him at my local office as there were some matters we had to discuss regarding medical and dependants, this is how I got the info. As my file is in the local office , I have been in close contact with them for 1 year now.
