Hello,

i have submitted my Medical and Landing fees middle of February 2010. It has been over 3 months and i have not received PPR from Buffalo. I called the medical office and they said everything was submitted if there were any issues with my medical they would have been contacted. They lady from Medical office contacted Ottawa, and the reply was my case is "in process". My question what is this process means ? pretty much done deal and i should get a PPR ? or anything else. Please share or shed some light.

Does your e-case show the receipt of your medicals on it ? and have you sent any email inquiry to Buffalo ?

Medicals done on May and received by Ottawa on May 25, no update on the e-case in that regard.

You will receive PPR soon if medical results with them and they are fine with it.

When you click on <In Process> it will take you to further detail status on your application.

CIC does not update status of everyone regular basis, when I did not hear from CIC, I mailed them, they did not reply me but after 3 days my status was changed to "Medical Results Have been Received".

After that I got passport request and I submitted it but still application shows <In Process>. Now at this stage when visa stamping will be done, it will be changed to <Decision Made>

so no need to be impatience by status if it is normal way or under normal circumstances.

Which visa office was that, Buffalo ? and when you sent them an email did you ask for the medicals only or the status of your application ?

I sent them an email as well the day before yesterday, and there was no responce except the automated reply.

yes.. it was in buffalo.

i sent mail to buffalo asking whether they received my medical.

they didn't reply me but my online status was changed to "Medical results have been received"

so no need to expect reply from them.

and after 2-3 days I got PPR in email. Also once you communicate with CIC using email they ALWAYS COMMUNICATE USING EMAIL AFTERWARDS.

Note : Now do not expect regular mail from them, they will now reply or request your PPR using your Email ID you provided them sending this enquiry.

canadp,

Thank you for your valuable information

They have never contacted me by mail except when they sent me the medical request form and letter, otherwise all of their communications with me were via email.

I have another question for you if you do not mind:

How many days after your medical results were received by Ottawa you got the change to ""Medical results have been received"

Thank you for the information.

My complete process is done through regular mail and not email except the last request of Passport because I contacted them.

Actually at the end of this whole process I was loosing my patience and that's why I contact them and other thing I did not send medical results because doctor send them so I want to make sure if they got it.

Answer to your question is almost 2 months.

Oh i see, we have an opposite situation in our correspondence with Buffalo,

for you: mail.....mail....mail.....eventually... email.

for me: email....email....email...eventually... mail.

Even me i did not send that email until i started losing my patience as well.

This is the first email i have ever sent to them since i applied to inquire about the status of my application.

Thank you so much for your valuable information, actually your case is confirming the idea that Buffalo office is different than the other offices in the USA which send the PPR very fast.

Maybe I have to be prepared for another 2 months to hear from Buffalo.

I just completed 90 days after my medical exams yesterday.
I had run out of patience and sent an email enquiry on June 3rd.
They sent me a cut and paste reply to that stating that they were "unable to provide a date when my processing would be over."
Still keeping fingers crossed however.
Any thoughts?

I did email buffalo specific case enquiry. I got the generic/automated response that your case is "in process". Keep the inquiry to minimum. hmmmmmm , so well see.

When you sent them an email, how long did they take to respond, and did they mention any background checks pending in your case such as;

"we requested information from other offices/governments and are unable to give a specific date when the results will be received"

OR

"your application is in process, and we are unable to give you an estimate when the processing of your application will be finalized"
?

Thank you.

It took about one day to get the generic reply from Buffalo (the case is in process) and the online status as i mentioned from the day i applied until now has never changed. I am waiting for the letter, that sent via regular mail. I am a US citizen, so there is no other countries background check i assume when they ask for the Medical, they are done with the background checks). I don't think the background is check. My hunch was that means basically the Ottawa might be swamped with processing the Medical that simply means they are still working on it. However, wanted to get everyone else's experience or their thoughts on this. As mentioned this been well over 3 months mark. one final note, i forgot to mention the lady in medical office when phoned Ottawa regarding the status of my medical. She said usually there is 3-to-6 months for medical process. WELL I HOPE not for the matrix they put in place for the Skill workers. Anyhow, i guess i will wait and see.
