please can anyone advice me. i underwent a cranial surgery in the philippines in 2003 when i applied in canada i did not tell the doctor that i underwent the surgery i entered canada in 2008 now i have applied for pr using canadian immigration. now DO I TELL
THE DOCTOR HERE THAT I HAD THE SURGERY OR DO I CONTINUE TO LIE ABOUT IT. i just want to pass the pr and am afraid that if i tell them about my surgery they might not accept me and deny my application because they might think that i have something to hide. and a friend told me to lie about it because of the doctors secrecy about telling others about your surgery. please advice me on what to do. hoping to hear from you any advice please....

Is this something that is likely to cause problems in the future? If not, why lie about it? It is possible that if you don't tell, they will never find out but if they were to find out, a PR gained by lies can always be revoked.

Tell the doctor. As long as you don't have a condition that will cause excessive demand to the Canadian healthcare system, is a danger to the public health or a danger to the public safety, you will be fine. The fact that you had surgery in the past will not preclude you from being medically admissible for PR. I'm assuming that the surgery fixed whatever problem you had. Lots of people have had surgery for various reasons and been found medically admissible for PR.

You mean misrepresentation because you didn't tell the doctor about it. Misrepresentation is the act of misleading CIC directly, indirectly or by omission of a "material fact" that allows you to obtain the "benefit" of status under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act. Material fact means that it is relevant to your case. Benefit means that you got status (WP) as a result of the lie you told. Since you are saying that the surgery was to remove a benign tumor, it doesn't sound like a material fact to me. Had you disclosed it, you would have gotten the WP anyway. Aside from that, people can be medically admissible for a TEMPORARY permit (such as a work permit) but MAY be inadmissible for PERMANENT residence and vice versa. A different standard can be applied. Now had the tumor been malignant and you were still undergoing treatment, that would be a different story.

A PR application is where you lay all your cards on the table and come clean on EVERYTHING. Tell the truth now.
