Our child was born in Canada, so is a Canadian citizen. We put her down as 'unaccompanying', but in the checklist is says she needs to go through a medical. That's not right, is it? What do we do?

you need to go back to the questionnaire dis-include your child from the application .

i think thats were they ask how many children do you have , if you just have one child who is canadian born , then just answer 0 children , then in the family form , include your child and the childs info along with your brothers and sisters or other immediate family

Thank y ou for replying
Are you sure? I thought we include the child, just write 'unaccompanying'?
She hasn't been included in the payment section, so I guess they are seeing that she doesn't need PR.

Absolutely not,

If you have children, you mention them otherwise it's misrepresentation.

You have canadian born children, mention them, state unaccompanying, then whhen they rquest a medical, upload their birth certificate again. Mention why in the letter of explanation.

I did exactly this, and I know at least 5 other members here who did the same. It's the safest and least controversial thing to do, with no misrep.

Good luck!!

Thank you - I was also worried about the whole misrepresentation thing. Your suggestion with the birth certificate sounds great. Thank you!

Select Yes. The child is part of the application. Add an LOE to explain that the child is Canadian by birth and doesn't need medicals. It's a glitch in the system.

Yep, that's what we did.

Hi foreigngirl,

If you select Yes - upload document section down amount included for child also .Did you noticed? Do we need to pay for the child fee process?

Thanks

I personally selected no. (not included).

I still uploaded all information necessary, (birth certificates, passports), I just didnt pay additional fees.

I'm in the same scenario. I put my child as unaccompanying and will be attaching LOE when I submit my application.

It didn't calculate the child for us. Only the two spouses. That's weird!
