So I have been working in Canada as a nurse since July of 2016. I had to get an immigration medical assessment to work in my field just to obtain the permit. Now my spouse and I are applying for PR. We realized our medical exams have expired. A few questions:

a) Do I have to get a new exam even though I've already been assessed?

b) We live rurally, is there any reason why not to submit proof of scheduled exam so we can go ahead and get our application submitted, we already have appointments but it is a 4 hour drive for us to get there and we wanted to time the appointment with a separate reason to go to Calgary.

1. Yes, you will need a new medical.

2. As long as you inform IRCC before the deadline that you need more time, it's fine. People are often not able to get appointments within the 30 days.
